| Skinner examines a German bunker in France |
Stephen Skinner has been a member of the League of World War I Aviation
Historians since its inception. He has interviewed more than fifty World War I combat pilots throughout England, Canada, Germany,
South Africa, France and the USA.
His work has been featured in Over the Front magazine, one of the
world's most authoritative publications on the topic, as well as the Aerodrome newsletter, the Indy Squadron Dispatch,
www.theaerodrome.com and other periodicals.
Stephen's research into the Frank Luke
saga has dwarfed any effort ever conducted. He has made six expeditions to France where he interviewed descendents of those
who watched Luke's final moments. He has conducted extensive archeological work on the battlefield where Luke died.
He has traveled to Germany and interviewed the family of the German officer who claimed to have killed him. Skinner's
book is the culmination of fifteen years of research.
