THE STAND
The Final Flight of Lt. Frank Luke, Jr.
by Stephen Skinner

"My gosh! What a book... its monstrous!" - JVK

THE STAND is enormous. It is easily the biggest, most aggressive work ever attempted on Lt. Frank Luke, Jr. The original, single-spaced manuscript was nearly 500 pages in length. Nearly 400 photos were submitted to the publisher, most previously unpublished, along with almost 200,000 words of text. The book alone weighs over four pounds. THE STAND is more than twice as big as any book ever produced on the topic.

Drawing on thousands of pages of newly discovered and unpublished material, on-site archeological work in France and dozens of interviews with the descendents of those involved, THE STAND: The Final Flight of Lt. Frank Luke, Jr. writes the last chapter on the life and death of America's most spectacular fighter pilot.

After fifteen years of research author and Telly award-winning television host Stephen Skinner pens a driving, dynamic account that fills in the blanks left behind by history after Luke died under controversial circumstances deep in enemy lines in September of 1918.
