The Armistice Day Fits Tournament is the annual event which determines the Indy Squadron championship. It is held annually
on or near November 11th (see calendar). The tourney has an uninterrupted history that dates back to the first championship event in 1989.
The Victory Medal, a gold medallion with inscription on a red ribbon,
is awarded to the winner of as a tangible token of their success. The currently reigning title holder also receives a guaranteed
invitation to the most prestigious game in Dawn Patrol, The Masters, as well as a secured spot in every future Armistice Day
tournament. Every Indy Squadron champion also receives a complimentary pass to the following year's Gen Con gaming convention.
The highest scoring eligible player is recognized as the reigning Indy Squadron champion until the next Armistice Day
Fits Tournament.
The Armistice Day Fits Tournament is unique because it was designed
as a single game, "winner take all" event. There has never been an award for second place.
The mission scenario changes each year, but there are certain rules which
stay the same in every Armistice Day Tournament:
- Battle takes place over No Man's Land, which is as wide as the board
- Players will roll percentiles for aircraft choice
- Altitude of dogfight determined after aircraft choices are made
- No ammo shortage for Germans
- Deploying a parachute negates 5 points from survival bonus
- All pilots are considered on 3rd mission
- Strict observation of standard time/movement limits, table talk
- Tournament box of 12 squares, 18 squares, 24 squares, then game board, then unrestricted,
will be used for 2 turns each

Eligibility
The sole purpose of the Armistice Day Fits Tournament is to determine an Indy Squadron champion from
among our regular players. Everyone is welcome to play, but competitors are asked to respect the intent of the game.
All players who have participated in a previous official Indy Squadron gaming day in the same calendar year are
eligible to win the squadron championship; all former Indy Squadron champions are also eligible. Competing in one Armistice
Day tournament does not make a player eligible for the next, so players may not show up once a year to cherry-pick the
title. It should be noted that national gaming conventions such as Gen Con are not Indy Squadron events. All Indy
Squadron events are designated on the Calendar page.
To facilitate participation eligibility standards are extremely low. Even the slightest effort at regular
attendence - as low as one Indy Squadron gaming day per year - makes one eligible for the title. Everyone is
welcome to join the game and non-title contenders may still win some great awards, so please be courteous and allow us this: players
who want to win the Indy Squadron title must game with the Indy Squadron.
If a player who meets these eligibility standards wins the tournament, he or she wins all prizes and awards.
If the tourney is won by a player not meeting this criteria, prizes are awarded to two players as follows:
The highest scoring player to meet championship eligibility criteria is awarded the Indy Squadron championship
title, the Victory Medal, an automatic invitation to the Masters Tournament (same year only) and automatic induction into the Armistice Day Fits Tournament Hall of Fame.
